Family Fun in Sooke

There are so many fun filled activities that are great for the whole family here in Sooke. Below are some highlights that will keep everyone entertained.

Sooke Potholes Provincial Park is the perfect day-use destination, the water is beautiful and clear making it perfect for a swim and picnic during the summer months. It is also a great location to watch the annual salmon spawning run.

An experience unique to Sooke is the whale-watching tours. Jump aboard the Baleen Queen of Sooke for an unforgettable tour on the open water where you may encounter Humpback whales, Orca whales, Minke whales,dolphins, sea otters, sea lions, harbour seals, bald eagles and more.

Watch the sunset over Sooke Harbour while tossing a crab trap off the Sooke Rotary Pier located in downtown Sooke. The whole family will participate in the excitement of crabbing, but make sure to check size restrictions and have the proper fishing license before you go.

For the thrill-seeking families, do a ziplining tour just a ten minute drive from the resort. Adrenaline Zipline offers a total of eight ziplines, varying in length. All guests must be between 40lbs and 275lbs for safety reasons. Guests between 40 and 60lbs must ride tandem with a guide, Adrenaline can only accommodate one tandem rider per tour.

Get your hands a little sandy and do some beachcombing at Whiffen Spit Beach. You never know what treasures you might find buried in the sand. Whiffen Spit is great for a family beach day with plenty of easy paths to walk, you might be lucky enough to spot some resident orcas.
