Rainy Day Activities Itinerary

Rainy Days in Sooke

Rain can make it difficult to enjoy your vacation and to keep everyone entertained. Below are some activities that are great for days when the weather is not.

One way to avoid the rain but still enjoy Sooke is to visit the Sooke Region Museum and Visitor’s Centre. The museum explains the history of Sooke and Vancouver Island; even if you have been before, they feature new exhibits every year. The museum is educational and entertaining at the same time.

Do a tour of Tugwell Creek Honey Farm & Meadery. This unique farm is focused on providing the best honey and mead, which can only come from the best bees. Their bees are kept on wild forage where they get a complete diet and are protected. They have a variety of tours and tastings available including mead tasting, honey tastings and self-guided tours.

For the more adventurous minded, Sooke is a great destination for storm-watching. Some of the best views are at Botany Bay, which is a short two hour drive from our resort. Once you park at Botany Bay you have to walk 10-minutes through a well-marked trail. Sit and take in the wonder of nature, when large pieces of driftwood are tossed around like toothpicks. Take extreme caution when storm-watching, the sea is unpredictable so stay on the path.

If you want a more relaxed experience, go down to Le Sooke Spa or Pure Elements Spa. The pure relaxation you will feel at the spa will make you forget about all the rain. Whether you stop in for a short treatment or a full day you will enjoy the tranquility of the spa and leave feeling better than when you came.

No one likes the rain when they’re on vacation but these activities will lift your spirits and ensure that you have the best vacation possible.
